Catch Up

So many things to write about...thank goodness I have a lot of time. I'm actually working right now, waiting for a job to type...it's obviously not a busy night!



Christmas decorations got put up. Can you spot our newest ornament? Our cat would not stay out of the tree. I honestly didn't even think that this would be a problem until we unpacked the tree and she thought it was the greatest gift we could have given her. Once the decorations were put up she was only caught climbing the tree a couple of times - she mostly just slept under it. I'm so glad that I could give her this little Christmas gift!? BTW, I think I broke me record this year. I had to use 4 extension cords and used approximately 2200 lights on our tree - I LOVE CLEAR MINI LIGHTS! Our tree is so bright! I love it! We'll see how our electricity bill sky rockets next month! ;)


Spot did a great job making all our popcorn - it's a family tradition that we share with all of our friends. I think he made about 30 batches this year. We get asked all the time for the recipe but he doesn't give it out. We're looking into getting it patented. We also got shortbread made - Spot made one batch with orange peel in it. I was a little hesitant at first, but I actually like them more than the regular shortbread. I made gingerbread men - a tradition for the kids to pass out to their classmates. However, I tried something new this year - snowman donuts - and MSN wanted to take them instead. Can you spot the man that I forgot to put buttons on?

We have had major windstorms in December - so much so that 1/3 of our shingles have blown off. Needless to say, we'll be filing another insurance claim. Our bushes also got blown over - we're not sure how we're going to fix them. It had to be on our "bad neighbors" side. ugh!

I finished sewing our Christmas PJ's. However, despite my attempts to get them done well before Christmas - I was finishing them up on Christmas Eve. Thank goodness there was a huge snowfall, and even if we wanted to, we couldn't go anywhere so I had all day to do stuff. We weren't even up late wrapping because it all got done ahead of time. It was a nice, peaceful evening.

And, despite my favourite saying these past few weeks (Santa doesn't come to bad kids...), Santa did find us. We all got spoiled ( I can't wait to play with my Cricut Expression AND I got to use my new scriptures today!). The kids all got IPods this Christmas - and it's been pretty quiet around here since they all have their earphones in listening to music or watching I-Carly on them. We got a Wii Fit and after registering my Me - can't wait to do something about the plumpness of it. When I was doing it - BatMan came in the room and asked why mine was like that. I asked "like what". He said, "you know, bigger". Ugh! Definately have to do something about that. (as I scoop another spoonful of peppermint icecream into my mouth!)
